Dr Peter Afolayan

Dr Peter Afolayan began his journey in medicine at the University of Witwatersrand, where he completed his MBBCh degree in 2013. With a growing interest in urology, he pursued further postgraduate studies, obtaining an MMed(Urol) from UKZN and an FC Urol(SA) in 2022.

His passion for staying current with the latest advancements in the field has continuously driven him to seek further education and training opportunities. In 2023, he completed an advanced training course in minimally invasive surgery in Orlando, USA, reflecting his commitment to offering his patients the most up-to-date and effective treatment options.

Research and evidence-based practice are cornerstones of his professional philosophy. Dr Afolayan is proud of his contributions to the field of urology, including his research on the management of penile cancer, which exemplifies his dedication to improving patient outcomes through innovative care.

Beyond the clinic, Dr Afolayan finds joy and balance in life through spending quality time with his family and engaging in outdoor activities. Soccer games with his sons are among his favourite moments, allowing them to bond and stay active together. He is also an avid reader with a particular fondness for thrilling fictional novels.
